SUMMER STEM/ NASA Astro Camp:
The program focuses on reaching into underserved and under-represented communities. NASA’s ASTRO CAMP brings real-world opportunities for every student to join and contribute to NASA’s Science Missions, enhancing understandings through powerful science career connections, inspiring life-long learners for NASA’s future science teams continuing the journey to explore our universe.
The Camp sparks all students’ interest in learning the unique basics of NASA Earth and space science, technology applications, engineering, rocketry, robotics, and computer science, focusing program outreach to historically under-served and under-represented groups, thus tracking the increase and quality of STEM learning opportunities with exposure to NASA STEM career possibilities for their future while having fun.
We’re one of 331 NASA Astro communities, including 31 outside the United States.
Participants included students from various population segments, focusing on students from underrepresented groups, accessibility for differently- abled students, and reaching under-resourced urban and rural settings.
ECYEC was the first NASA ASTRO Camp Community Partner in the State of South Carolina and remains one of three named on NASA’s ACCP website.
The SUMMER STEM/NASA Astro Camp operates 5 days per week.
