The NASA Astro STEAM Summer Academy is dedicated to bridging educational gaps in underserved and underrepresented communities by providing students with hands-on experiences that connect them to NASA’s Science Missions. Through an immersive curriculum, students explore NASA Earth and space science, technology applications, engineering, rocketry, robotics, and computer science, gaining real-world exposure to STEAM career pathways. The program operates five days per week and is designed to prevent summer learning loss by integrating STEM education, life skills, and digital literacy into engaging activities that inspire lifelong learning and future career success. The program also integrates Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Health Services Education, supporting students’ emotional well-being, teamwork, resilience, and healthy decision-making.
